hello from the land of turquoise speedos

i should have known i couldn't go five days without finding internet. it's 8:30 and after going out with some friends last night i dragged myself to the practice rooms at the hall to practice my recital music and i'm the only one here so i can blog without fear of people over my shoulder. i would feel really proud of myself for getting up and getting here but i'm spending my time on the internet, not in the practice room!

everyone here has been really nice and the rehearsals are going well. my hotel is awesome-big bed, cable, one block from the beach but it's art deco which i think is a fancy way of saying bare in this case :) actually, it's really cool looking. we've been pretty busy so far with rehearsals from 10-4:30 with a long break for lunch but i've managed to practice a lot also. i wonder if i could keep that up if i got in here full time. i'm really inspired by people in the orchestra. all the viola players here are so good. just a little bit of drama in this orchestra...i feel like people are playing a game with each other. my one friend has a group of friends that won't talk to another groupd of people so if we go out i have to call and tell him who is there so he knows if he wants to go or not. messed up. it's like the usual conservatory drama times 1000 because people all live in the same apartment building and no one has friends outside the orchestra.
