cold sesame noodles
just spent the morning observing suzuki and eurythmic lessons. there is something so rewarding about working with 3 and 4 year olds. they're so open and without built-in defenses like the rest of us. i really feel like they're little blank slates.
i've been thinking a lot about what classes i want to take next semester. so far in my masters i've wanted to take as little as possible so i have time for more practicing, more teaching, more gigging, but i think it's been leaving me feeling unbalanced. i am definitely the type of person who gets more done when they have more to do and i also feel like if i excercise the other parts of my brain then maybe i'll be more focused when i practiced. so i think i'm going to take a writing workshop in journalism and intro to accounting (for when i open my own music school!) in addition to suzuki training and all the other usual music stufff. i may have to spend more time down at school instead of practicing at home and might have to take a few less wedding gigs, but really, i might as well enjoy my last semester in school before i have to enter the real world people keep telling me about. i think i can handle 12 credits if i did 24 in my undergrad!
and yes i did decide on the journalism thing before i saw "goodnight, and good luck" last night (good movie, by the way), but i was inspired by that.
ok now i'm going to go practice. really, here i go...
