back to the land of bagels

at my mom's house after the last new world concert and i can't really believe i'm in florida right now. i ended up having a really great time this week. i met a lot of awesome people and even though i wasn't enjoying the elgar in rehearsal, the concerts were so exciting. i think this was the best orchestra i've played with so far. last night a bunch of us went out after the concert to a swanky hotel that madonna had been spotted at. it was unlike anything i'd ever seen. when you walk in there are sheer white curtains hanging from floor to ceiling and beds instead of tables and chairs. we went to a pool side bar that had tables in the shallow end of the pool (2 inch deep) and we left our shoes by the side and had a martini in a huge pool. we spotted taye diggs who had a couple of beds roped off for him. the whole time i was thinking, i could get used to this. it was great to spend some time with violas i hadn't seen in a while, especially dustin and madeline. in some ways it was great to be around people better and older than me who are going to be taking the same auditions as me to motivate me, but in the same thought i could get discouraged. the viola section was so good, and i don't think i gave them any reason not to call me again. i think new world would be a good option for me, but i know that over 75% of people graduating this year probably feel the same way. it would be so great to be near my family and i loved miami beach. right now i would love anywhere that it's easier to walk places than to drive. i love the feeling i get in a real city, surrounded by people and something new on every street. i can completely lose myself in it, and it invigorates me.

Love the blog, love both my kids equally, unequivocably, passionately and unconditionally. It is sheer heaven and bliss having Joanna in FL and I am looking so forward to having Jon here too. We will have a Curb Your Enthusiasm marathon. I need to get another turkey as Jeff's family all decided to join us on Thanksgiving. One in the oven and the other on the grill. Wait!! Am I blogging here?
