got this from a Walgreens website while investigaing cold remedies. watchout people! i guess i'm just an early peaker--but i am finally on the mend! i guess I should be glad that i only lost one full day of practicing but i am still feeling very sorry for myself with a recital in just over a week and the pittsburgh sub audition two days later i feel like every minute counts. like the minutes i'm blogging... how come i can only feel good about my day if i get in all the practicing i want? if i come up an hour short i feel like i wasted my day. the weird thing is that when it's time to go practice i don't want to do it even though all the time i have class, am teaching, or doing a gig i'm just thinking, i want to practice.
i don't even have all the parts for excerpts i'm putting on my recital that are from the pittsburgh list! and i feel like such a tool for putting excerpts on a recital. today i rehearsed the sinfonia concertante with alexa and alicja and it actually made me really excited! it's such a fun piece with piano and i know i'll be able to pull of this recital and if it's not perfect, that's fine. the sub audition is just a sub audition and it won't change my life if i do or don't get it but it just feels like such pressure. at least i got the fromat of this blog under control if nothing else.
as soon as i could stop driving around in it i startedto appreciate the snow today. it's so beautiful, clean, and fresh. the area near school looks like a disgusting mud pit but up here in cleveland heights, it's kind of pretty. at least we don't have to drive to canton in it tonight.
