i know

i'm supposed to be blogging about the reporter from al jazeera and he was a really amazing speaker and one of the smartest people i've ever met in my life (as in, top 5 of the smartest people i've ever heard speak) but today my class had another great speaker, dana priest. she's a washington post reporter on intelligence and she spoke about her work from a personal level and it was just really inspiring to me. she was talking about how since her latest reports on overseas prisons a lot of her former contacts won't speak with her and her competition is trying to take her credibility today and she just said, "well, i'll find away around that." wow. it's so inspiring to be around upbeat, confident people once in a while instead of people that want to build themselves up by making you feel inferior.

i think one of my problems right now is that i'm not 100% commited to my orchestra job quest. there's so much more i want to do with my life than just have an orchestra job. i want to live somewhere exciting. i want to be surrounded by inspiring people. i want to make a difference. i want to be busy and i want to be happy.

oh, i don't really know what happened to my last post...sorry bout that
